There are times when a keyboard will just stop typing on some keys. Other times dirt, dust, and liquid spills will damage the keyboard on a laptop or notebook. When any of these occur the keyboard cannot be repaired as they are molded film layer not designed to be opened and must it be replaced. In some laptops the keyboard is designed to be quickly replaced and very little labor is required to remove the keyboard and get the correct part number for replacement. In a lot of newer model thin or slim laptops and notebooks the keyboard is a part of the palmrest or upper casing of the laptop itself. When the palmrest and keyboard are integrated the system must be fully disassembled and the screen, motherboard and all other components moved from one to another.

Open the system to get the keyboard part number and inspect for any other possible damage

Quote the appropriate parts required and get customer approval

Install the replacement parts

Reassemble the system and verify system function
